Your dog’s potty breaks are no longer a dreaded chore! To clean the Porch Potty STANDARD, pick up solids and water the grass with a watering can or hose for 1 minute. This allows the water to soak up the entire surface and clean every blade of grass. The water will then flow down the 14-foot drain hose to your designated runoff or into the catch basin (sold separately).
Indoors & Outdoors
Porch Potty STANDARD works as both an outdoor and indoor dog potty. For outdoor use, attach the included 14-foot drain hose to wash all the water and urine away to your designated runoff (drainpipe, rain gutter, patio, yard, etc.). For indoor use or when you don’t have a runoff nearby, use the catch basin to collect the water. Whether you’re looking for an indoor or outdoor dog potty, we’ve got what you need.
Real or Synthetic Grass
Goodbye soggy, smelly pee pads that destroy the planet, and hello reusable synthetic grass! The included synthetic grass is made from recycled materials and holds up in all weather. If you’re looking to upgrade to a real grass dog potty, we’ve got you covered. Our training sod (not included) is grown in the sunny weather of Southern California and is delivered fresh to your door on a weekly or monthly basis.
Scenting Fire Hydrant
Worried your puppy or dog won’t get the hang of Porch Potty? The included scenting fire hydrant speeds up potty training for both puppies and older dogs alike. Simply wipe down the included scenting fire hydrant with a paper towel coated in your dog’s urine. This will help them recognize Porch Potty as their new potty spot and trigger their natural instinct to go.

Your Questions Answered!
How do I clean the Porch Potty STANDARD?
Cleaning the Porch Potty STANDARD is easy! Simply remove solids and manually water the grass with a watering can or hose for 1 minute. This allows the water to soak up the entire surface and clean every blade of grass. The water will then flow through the perforated backing in the synthetic grass and down the 14-foot drain hose or into the catch basin (sold separately). Do this every few days for a clean and odor-free Porch Potty. To clean the plastic tray, wipe it down or let it soak in water and vinegar or water and a bit of bleach. Empty and rinse with water. Now you can place the grass back on. You should also lift the base of the Porch Potty to clean any areas where your dog may have missed or dripped down the side.
Will the Porch Potty smell?
With regular cleaning, your Porch Potty will stay odor-free! All it takes is rinsing with clean water a few times per week. The self-draining system will do the work for you and direct all the water and urine to your designated runoff or into the catch basin. Sometimes, despite how often you clean Porch Potty, protein in urine can build up, leaving behind lingering odors. In that case, give Piss Off (not included) a try. Our natural enzymatic cleaner breaks down those tough proteins and restores Porch Potty to its original freshness.
What if my dog won’t use the Porch Potty?
If your puppy or dog doesn’t want to use the Porch Potty, wipe down the included scenting fire hydrant with their pee. This will trigger their natural instinct to go. You may also turn Porch Potty STANDARD into a real grass dog potty by swapping the included synthetic grass for training sod (not included). Our training sod is grown in the sunny weather of Southern California and is delivered fresh to your doorstep on a weekly or monthly basis. The smell of the live grass will help trigger your dog to potty. If you need more tips and tricks for puppy potty training, Porch Potty comes with a FREE training guide. We also have tons of great expert advice over on our blog!
What makes Porch Potty different from other dog potty options?
Porch Potty STANDARD is truly one of a kind. It has a durable yet stylish wicker design and an innovative self-draining system that makes cleanup easy. Plus, unlike puppy pee pads that you have to throw away constantly, Porch Potty can be used over and over again, making it a much more eco-friendly and long-lasting option.
How long does Porch Potty last?
Porch Potty is the only grass dog potty that’s designed to last a dog’s lifetime. It has a durable wicker design over a steel frame and high-quality synthetic grass made of waterproof nylon strands. Porch Potty holds up in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, and below-freezing temperatures. Many of our customers have had their Porch Potties for 10 years and counting!
Does Porch Potty ship to my country?
Most likely yes! We ship all over the world, including the United States, Australia, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Brazil, China, South Korea, Dubai, Qatar, Egypt, Iran, Bahrain, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, India, and Malta.
Is Porch Potty worth it?
Porch Potty is an investment you will have for years and years to come. Puppy pee pads and subscription grass dog potties can come out to hundreds, even thousands, of dollars a year. With Porch Potty, you’ll only pay a one-time cost up front, saving you tons of money in the long run. Porch Potty is also a more sustainable choice. We all know that puppy pee pads are terrible on the planet. And although cardboard dog potties are marketed as “recyclable,” the cardboard often gets tossed in the trash at the recycling center because it’s so soiled. Our live grass is eco-friendly and even our synthetic grass is made from recycled materials. Plus, we think your dog deserves more than a cardboard box. Your dog deserves a potty that’s built to last. Porch Potty is the best choice for your dog, your wallet, and the planet.

My dog is a 50lb goldendoodle. I would give this 4.5 stars, wish I had gotten this earlier. Yes it’s expensive but I have trouble walking and am scared to take him out at night so this has been a perfect solution. I have to use a catch basin which I got off Amazon for cheaper. As mentioned my dog is 50lbs - I wouldn’t say this would be good for dogs larger than that or at least not much larger. Only complaint is sometimes the top part/tray slides when my dog goes on it and freaks him out a bit, maybe a lock in place addition would be good so the dogs feel more secure. My dog is luckily very flexible with where he goes potty so didn’t take much for him to get used to it, just put a puppy pad one time and he knew to go there from now on (:

I love it because I live in an apartment and where I live is not a very good neighborhood in the grass is not clean it has glass and who knows what and I don’t feel it safe for my dog but I like it a lot and it helps me also as I have medical problems I’m dealing with now I would recommend it to others

My little Jack Russell mix took immediately to the porch potty. She’s about 8yrs and she was rescued off the streets in January. She urinates frequently. My new girl, a 2.5yr Chihuahua mix uses it sometimes. I have not worked to train her yet. I have another 4yr old who never uses it. I will eventually train him too.
I purchased in September and am very happy. The liquid odor eliminator is absolutely excellent.

We have used several methods with our Frenchie. We are on in the city on the 6th floor with few workable outdoor potty options, we have used potty patch, doggie lawn, and other systems-but this has been the best-costs more up front but cleaner, easier, and more eco friendly-best of all unlike other systems he NEVER misses because he has to step up! Very happy!

Love it! ❤️ We have an older, three-legged dog who doesn't really like to trek outside (6 floors down) to do his business. Luckily we have plenty of space and a drain on our patio. 6 years strong our potty has been going, through hot summers and snowy winters. I flush with water after every use, deep clean/disinfect every couple weeks, and change out the grass yearly. One of the best purchases I've ever made!

Jackson (my Maltipoo) loves his Porch Potty. We have it on the back deck and he uses it first thing in the morning and right before bed. During the day we go for walks. It was easy to set up and looks great on my deck. It took Jackson about a day and a half to get used to it (at first he thought it was a bed and would just lay down on it lol) and now he goes to the deck door when he wants to potty and walks right over to it.
A friend “gifted” us a porch potty when I mentioned at a lady’s luncheon that I had just brought home a 7 week old, 1.5 pound PooShi puppy! I announced this in exasperation because I had forgotten how difficult it is to potty train a new puppy! I didn’t want to use peeped pads because that is a never ending nightmare. Long story short she brought over the porch potty that afternoon. It’s been the best thing ever invented for dogs owners!
Our little one was potty trained in less than a month! Rain or shine he gets to go on his own! I’ve just ordered another one for our summer home! We are so happy with this product. Also shipping and delivery was very fast!
I have a 5 month old, 45 pound, sheepadoodle (dad was a sheepdog and mom a standard poodle). He's already a big boy. Customer service was great with suggestions to get him to use the potty. We only use it in urgent situations ( we live in a 3rd floor apartment)... thinking it will be especially nice in WI winter weather and storms. (This pic was when we got him to at least get on he potty. Once that was successful, we moved to getting him to use it. It will be adequate sized even when he's full grown)
I have had Porch Potty since my American Golden Retriever was a puppy. This is my second purchase, to replace the old one I have had for almost 6 years. In equatorial weather, the wicker does wear & tear after being exposed to constant sun and rain. Nevertheless, it saves us from constantly bringing our dog out of the house and from holding back her pee.
The weather is unpredictable in Wyoming so we love the versatility of the porch potty. Right now we have it in the garage due to the crazy wind outside, but we plan to move it outside during the summer months. She's still learning how to use it, but she sure looks cute trying!
Store owner replied:
Hi there,
Thank you so much for sharing this! We love hearing how the Porch Potty is making things easier despite Wyoming’s unpredictable weather. It’s great that you can move it between spaces as needed, and we’re sure she’ll get the hang of it in no time. She already sounds adorable trying!
We absolutely love this and so does our pup. It looks tidy and intentional. It was extremely easy to put together. Overall very happy!
Store owner replied:
Hi Lu,
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re glad to hear both you and your pup are loving your Porch Potty and that it was easy to set up. It means a lot to us that it looks tidy and fits seamlessly into your space. Enjoy every moment with your happy pup!
Before I started using the porch potty I had a ridiculously expensive bougie grass subscription. The grass subscription said you should only have to switch it every 2 to 4 weeks but since I have a puppy and another dog it needed to be switched out every week which was way out of my price range. Then I found the porch potty! I live in an apartment so it sits on my balcony and I have the catch basin underneath it which is great since I’m on the top floor and cannot use the hose that came with it. I have been trying to rinse it every day which helps with the smell But it does take a while to dry. I bought ann enzymatic cleaner on Amazon because the one on the website is super overpriced, sorry about that but I have to be honest! After I use the cleaner I rinse it and hang it over my balcony ledge to drip dry which takes a couple hours and I have a clean patch of grass again! I also bought the pee pee panel mainly because my balcony gets so much sun and this gives the grass some shade so it doesn’t get too hot for their toe beans! This is perfect for potty training my puppy and quick morning and lunch time potty trips for my 2 year old dog! Yes it’s expensive but when you pay once versus weekly it’s much less costly than those grass subscriptions and worth it!!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re really happy to hear that the Standard Porch Potty has been such a helpful and more affordable alternative for your pups, especially for apartment living. It’s great to know it’s working well for potty training your puppy and for those quick daily potty breaks for your older dog too. We also love that you found a routine that keeps the grass fresh and comfortable for their little toe beans. Thanks again for your honest and thoughtful review!
My little Macchiato loves his new porch potty. As a townhome owner without a private yard, this is great for a little daily convenience and puppy training between walks in the neighborhood. I love it for middle of the night or first thing in the morning before I am ready to get out of the house.
My only complaint is that the basin and the spray came much later than the rest of the porch potty in a separate package. But now that everything is here, we are very happy with the product!
Store owner replied:
Hi Jess,
Thank you so much for sharing! We’re thrilled to hear that Macchiato is loving his new Porch Potty and that it’s making those early mornings and late nights a little easier. We apologize for the delayed arrival of the basin and spray, but we’re so glad everything made it safely and that you’re now enjoying the full setup.
We have had the Standard Porch Potty for 7 years! Love it. We keep it in our garage and it easily drains to the floor drain. We live in the snowy northeast. Our cockapoo can easily switch between using the Porch Potty and going outside in nicer weather.
Store owner replied:
Hi Michelle,
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that your Porch Potty has been a trusted part of your Cockapoo’s routine for 7 years. We love hearing how it makes life easier!
I (and the pups of course) couldn't be happier with our porch potty. The drainage is great and makes cleaning a breeze. I have mine on a 2nd story balcony and run the hose to the ground with no issues. I clean it weekly with simple green and water and in the 2 months of operation haven't experienced any odor. If you've got pup's that can't come and go freely to a yard for bathroom breaks I truly think the Porch Potty should be a requirement. It's perfect 👍

Hi Melissa,

After a few days my pup is using the porch potty for urine elimination. Still working on feces elimination. I would recommend this product.
Store owner replied:
Hi Cheryl,
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad your pup is already using the Porch Potty for urine, and with a little time, most dogs adjust to using it for both.
One of our boys is allergic to grass so we are able to keep the Porch Potty within our screened enclosure and simply roll the hose out to drain and clean. Very simple and convenient. When our Porch Potty arrived, one of the frames was damage in shipping and Porch Potty immediatley sent us a replacement. Service and Support are excellent! Would highly recommend.
Store owner replied:
Hi Tina,

I bought this in preparation for adopting my first dog, figuring there would be times where he'd need to potty but it wasn't a good time to take a walk (weather, middle of the night, etc.), since we are apartment dwellers. Once he got used to using it, it has been flawless. He uses it every morning while I'm still drinking my coffee so I don't need to run out in my pajamas to walk him first thing, and then we take our walk later. It lives on the balcony and is pretty easy to clean (I recommend using those disinfecting wipes for if there is poo smear on the grass. I spray the bowl occasionally with Nature's Miracle, I haven't tried their version of this yet). He's a tripod and has no problems getting up and down on it, but they do have a ramp for those that need it. Other pet parents at the park, when discussing potty training their puppies, and I told them about the Porch Potty, are very interested! I tell them it is spendy but worth it. We've been using it for four months now and it's quite durable.
Store owner replied:
Hi Phoenix,
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re glad to hear how well the Porch Potty has worked for you and your tripod pup. It’s wonderful knowing it’s making mornings easier and more comfortable for both of you.
My two little Frenchie puppies figured this out from day one. Great for potty training indoors and will eventually move the whole thing outside to my deck. This is a great option for anyone that doesn’t have a fenced yard and needs a backup to walking in rain or snow in Iowa. The look and functionality is superior to anything else on the market.
Store owner replied:
Hi Naomi,
Thank you for your feedback! We're thrilled to hear that your Frenchie puppies took to the Porch Potty right away. It’s wonderful to know it’s helping with potty training and providing a convenient solution during Iowa’s unpredictable weather.
We purchased the Porch Potty for our 10 1/2 year old Golden doodle in hopes that we could train her to use it before she gets to the point of truly needing to use it. We live in a condo on the 11th floor and, as she ages, we foresee many trips up and down the elevator as her toileting needs change. Our pup loves to please and we thought she would take right to it. We used treats and positive reinforcement for several days but so far we have been u successful in training her to use the system. We even ordered the real grass and poured some of her own urine on it but still no luck. I don’t know if you can “teach old dogs new tricks”. We will try for a few more days (she has been trained to pee pretty much on command but she just can’t wrap her head around the system yet). We will probably gift the system to a neighbor who is getting a new puppy in a few weeks. I have a feeling training a puppy on use of the Porch Potty will be much easier. I am still rating the system as a 5 because: customer service is very helpful with ordering and training questions, it is well made/durable, it is easy to clean, and the drainage system is easy to use. If we were getting a new puppy, I would order the porch potty again in a minute.
Store owner replied:
Hi Kristen,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We truly appreciate you giving the Porch Potty a fair try with your sweet Golden Doodle. Training an older pup to adjust to a new routine can sometimes take a little extra time and patience, but it sounds like you’re doing all the right things with positive reinforcement. If you’d like any additional training tips, we’re always happy to help! We’re also so grateful for your kind words about our product quality and customer service, it means a lot. If you do end up gifting it to your neighbor’s new puppy, we hope it brings them great success!
We have only had Moka for less than 24 hours and she is already using the porch potty🤩
For reference, Moka is an AussieDoodle and she’s 6 weeks old.

I love your product!! I have 2 Golden retrievers and live in an apartment. They started using their new porch potty right away. No training needed, they knew what to do. No more pee pads and mess!! Yay! Thank you for inventing a Fabulous product!

Hi Carrie,
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We're glad to hear that your Golden Retrievers took to their new Porch Potty right away and that it’s made life easier for you. No more mess, just happy pups! It’s what we aim for!
The size is great for my miniature poodle...competitors options were too small and she had no room to do the "circle" thing before pooping. I really like there is a canopy to go with it, though it would have been better if it was a solid materiel, rather than woven...won't the rain just come through? I'm going to modify mine before the rain starts this year. My puppy took to the Porch Potty right away...no really coaxing needed. It is attractive on my deck and matches my furniture...love that! A few things to consider: If you use the drain hose be mindful of where that drain ends up. In my case, it ends up either in my neighbor's back yard, or our parking area, depending on the drain I use. People, this is dog urine! So, unless your drain goes directly into a sewer pipe...you are dumping urine somewhere it will for sure get all smelly! Like, would you flush your toilet into your parking area? The drain hose didn't work well, anyway. The angle at the "elbow" is too sharp and the rinse water just backed up into the tray. I switched to just draining into a container, which I dump into a bucket and dispose of in my toilet. Kind of a pain three times a week, but better than no Porch Potty at all. Be mindful that you WILL have to rinse it thoroughly every two to three days or it starts to really reek. All in all, this is working for us for now when she is a puppy. Hopefully at some stage she will be able to hold it until I can take her downstairs and outside.
Store owner replied:
Hi Lucy,
Thank you for sharing such a detailed review! We're so glad to hear that your miniature poodle is comfortable using the Porch Potty and that it complements your deck setup. We appreciate your feedback on the canopy design; we’ll take that into consideration for future improvements. It’s also helpful to hear about your experience with the drainage setup. We'll look into ways to improve ease of use there as well. Your solution with the container is smart, and we're happy the Porch Potty is making things a bit easier for you both.
The cross bar wing screws do not tighten all the way, like the holes are not all the way threaded. Therefore it is not secure for larger dogs. Thankfully mine is a small dog. The drainage system is not the greatest. Needs cleaning after every use or attracts flies which could lay larvas and cause other issues. The drain is not flush with base and therefore urine sits around the drain hole and could cause unwanted and harmful bacteria to grow. Unfortunately I don’t have the option to return it as it has been used which does not qualify for a return, even though they say they are committed to your 100% satisfaction. I’m very disappointed in this product.
Store owner replied:
Hi there,
Thank you for your honest feedback! We recommend using a mixture of bleach with water or vinegar with water. Wipe down the tray with the mixture, make sure to wipe down the underside of the tray as well. You can also pour some of the mixture down the drainage tube as urine can build up in the tube. You may want to soak the synthetic grass for a bit before rinsing it and drying it.
For the beam screws, the beams are a new addition to the potty to help with support of larger dogs. The best option to get this fixed quickly might be to looser the screws on the frame slightly so you can get the middle beam aligned and then tighten those back up after. If this doesn't work, we're happy to help and please reach out to our customer care team to assist you further.
It is a great idea however it is not functional. I’m disabled and now my dog and I live in an apartment. Two of the wing screws for the cross braces where not able to go in all the way so the cross braces are not secure. Then I noticed flies where all around it and when I lifted the grass up I saw that urine had been sitting in the drain hole do to the drain not being designed to sit flush with surface. The flies have the potential of laying g eggs and them hatching as well as other bacterial growth if not cleaned every use. causing a concern. I rinsed it at least once a day and still had the flies. I feel puppy pads are more sanitary than this. This is more of a hassle to keep clean than to just fight the pain and take her down the stairs and outside.

We're building a house and had to move into a 4th floor apartment. Our dog has always had a yard so we weren't sure what we were going to do until we found Porch Potty. We walk her during the day but she uses it right away in the morning and bed time. She actually goes to the balcony door to let us know she needs to use it. We just rinse it off with a bucket of water and empty the basin every couple days. Great product and very happy we found it!

Eliminates odor and helps pets feel comfortable. This is perfect for me because I am a disabled veteran and live upstairs with 2 dogs and this was a life saver. My bulldogs love it and use it faithfully everyday. It gives them a feel like they are in the park. I highly recommend this to all pet owners. It is very easy to clean and maintain.

Initially some reviews stated that the pvc drain pipe was too small to fit securely to the platform's drain. You just have to unscrew the ring. I purchased some pvc tape for some extra grip, but you honestly don't need it. I was skeptical at first since my new 8 week goldendoodle puppy didn't catch on. But I think it was just the height at first. My husband sprayed the urine training aid spray. Now all I have to call out is "potty" and he goes straight there and pees. He does prefer to poop elsewhere, but its still great for a quick pee.

Hi Stef!

Lucy loves it! She was trained to go on a piece of turf, which smelled bad. The transition was seamless. She went immediately after it was set up. Now she often uses it to catch some sun in the back yard while chewing a toy. Its become a place of comfort for her in addition to a place to pee. It's been great and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for either an outdoor or patio solution.

I have the porch potty standard and it is very well made and very nice looking on my porch. I am however having a problem getting my dog to use it which I don’t understand since she has used other artificial turf potties in the past. I am hoping she will get more consistent using it with time as this was an expensive purchase.
Store owner replied:
Hi Gina!
Thank you for giving us an awesome rating and review! We're sorry to hear that you're struggling with having your dog use the Porch Potty. The best tip is to spritz a bit of Windex on the grass. The ammonia attracts and encourages dogs to use that spot. We have some helpful resources on how to train your dog, located on our website.
Some quality issues. Nylon siding is ripped and looks like it’s already been outside as the base is rusted
The porch potty has been wonderful at our lake house, so we bought one for home and it's saving our grass tremendously. This is probably the best thing we bought for our goldendoodle puppy. I was worried because he's so big (he just turned a year old and is 76.4 lbs) that it would be too small, but he fits and uses it without issue.
Looks nice. Works great after we cut the hose to a shorter length. Dogs took a little while to get used to the step up but they’re using it successfully now. Happy dogs & happy dog parents. Thanks Porch Potty!
