We’ve heard from some customers that it can move more easily in the tray depending on the dog and how they step onto the potty. Synthetic grass looks like real grass and is easy to keep clean. Simply water it like real grass to rinse away urine residue. Water and urine drain through the perforated grass instantly, keeping it dry and odor free.
Our synthetic grass is made specifically for the Porch Potty to make picking up solids and rinsing easy. The grass is made from water proof nylon strands and a durable latex backing. It will last for several years. However, many Porch Potty owners replace their synthetic grass after 6 months to 1 year of use due to the accumulation of urine deposits leading to odor that cannot be removed. Longevity of synthetic grass depends on how often the potty is used, if there are multiple dogs in the household, how often the grass is cleaned and the unavoidable circumstance that some dogs have a stronger urine smell.

We live in a high rise, and before we got our new puppy, we thought that it would be a good idea to have your product for emergencies, bad weather, and so we received it a few days before we got our puppy. I really had no intention of introducing him to it until he had settled in for a few days, and did his business outside on the grass. I thought that I would take him out on the balcony to become familiar with it, and so Bentley looked at it, walked the length of our balcony, came back, got onto the Porch Potty with no coaxing or my lifting him onto it, and did his business as if he had used it a thousand times - I was astounded at how easily he understood what it was for. For people who live in a high rise building, this is a Godsend for those times when your pet needs to relieve himself immediately, and you can’t wait for an elevator, or when it is raining, or freezing cold. A couple of days ago I received the Porch Potty and I am so excited to tell you that dogs used it instantly. I was shocked to notice that within 30 seconds my oldest dog who is blind and cannot smell walked right up to it and used it. A moment later my second dog used it. I just received the Porch Potty for my rather large Maltese, named Bentley. I love it and so does he. After I set it up, my cat thought it was a new place for her to lounge in the sun! Thankfully, Bentley hadn’t used it yet! Prior to receiving the Porch Potty, I was using a grass type of carpet on my balcony. I had to rinse it down and then go down the driveway and rinse that down - not to mention the smell. I threw that out immediately and replaced it with the much more practical Porch Potty. We live in an apartment and LOVE the Porch Potty! I taught little Francis how to use it and he was hooked within a day! Assembled my porch potty yesterday and my 6 month puppy has already peed on it 5 times! Wow. I purchased a Porch Potty shortly after bringing home my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy, Charlotte. We found your product to be wonderful, especially when Charlotte was diagnosed with luxated patellas in both rear knees. She had to undergo two separate surgeries and be in leg casts for weeks. Since she was already trained on the potty, it made it so easy for her to go in and out quickly without having to deal with stairs.
iI just wanted to say that the Porch Potty enabled me to be able to get, and keep my Mastiff puppy. I have some health issues right now, and am often quite dizzy first thing in the morning. With the Porch Potty I can just let Lena out on the balcony, and she takes care of business. It’s also very nice to have in rainy weather, which is most of the time in Oregon. It’s also great at night! It did not diminish her learning to go outside where she is supposed to go, either. Thanks for a great product. I have recommended it to a number of my clients.

We started with the fresh grass but it did not last more 2 weeks without her wanting to potty on the worn out on grass. So we decided to try the artificial grass. She loves it. I rinse it every night, just to keep it clean. And it always look new and clean.

We have 2 Frenchies and live in a town house with multiple balconies. We have been customers of Porch Potty for almost 5 years! We have 3 Porch Potties and life would be so much harder without them. I have a subscription for replacement turf that comes once a month. They're easy to clean and maintain. I prefer to replace the turf every 3 - 4 weeks but they're pretty easy to clean. I have found that a little kitty litter in the basin helps absorb the liquid and prevent smells. Porch Potty sells a liquid product that will help with any potential odors. I highly recommend Porch Potty. Their customer service and rewards program are great!

We have had our porch potty for three years and it’s a wonderful product. We replace the synthetic grass when necessary and the company has been amaze at fulfilling orders in a timely manner. Several of our friends have also purchased porch potty’s for their dogs because of our positive experience.
I order these on subscription to change out every 3 months for my pups. It’s nice to be able to rinse the grass and throw it when it is old and place a new one down. Great for anyone who doesn’t have a yard for pets to go potty on.
Very high quality synthetic grass. Thick and sturdy. Will last a long time. It would be nice if there were more holes in the backing to allow better drainage. We have a sprayer and spray the area where our dog pees and poops after each time but during the summer months it still starts to smell. At night I again rinse the grass with the water sprayer real good and then spray simple green for dogs on it. I let it set for a bit then put it on its side to air out over night. This seems to help the backing as it really harbors the odor. Other than that we love the product and the frame- both high quality workmanship. It looks real nice on our deck. We live in an apartment.
We have used the Porch Potty for several years and love this product for our third floor condo and 4th floor deck. It provides a lot of convenience and is a well-designed system. We do have the replace the grass every year because it does tend to smell rather quickly. It is important to clean the potty regularly.
We change out the grass on our (2) Porch Potty's 3-4 times annually and have delivery on auto-ship so we won’t forget. We have two dogs that use it daily.One large (65 lbs) Female - One medium (28) Male. We also use the sprinkler system function for ease to give the areas a daily rinse, and use a biodegradable, non-toxic water-soluble cleaner on them a couple of times weekly before the sprinklers turn on to flush in-between. I find that a little care keeps the lawn and the Porch Potty units safe and fresh for all of us. (And ours is located on a deck because we live in an area that has wildlife that requires a bit of extra TLC for our pets). This product has been a lifesaver for us in more ways than one - as we can leave access for our animals if we leave the house for extended time during the day or evening, and know they are safely able to relieve themselves. Especially since one of our loved ones is older and needs to go outside more frequently than in the past. it took a bit of time to convert the elder of the two dogs, but once I put a scented training pad on it, he got the hint and has been an old dog that learned a new trick successfully. Wish I’d thought of it sooner. Thanks for a great product.
I live downtown, have two dogs and do dog boarding full time. The porch potty gives all the dogs I care for the ability to relieve themselves outside of their walks. This product is reliable and extremely helpful to my household. I have the drain tube set up to my drainage on the roof so when the dogs pee it goes straight to the sewer. Love this product.

We purchased a replacement grass patch since the first one was getting a bit skanky. The new one drains better. It has more drain holes than the original grass patch that came with the Porch Potty. Thank you for the upgraded design.

I’ve been using the Porch Potty grass patch for a couple of weeks now, and I’m really impressed with the quality. I rinse and wash it every day, and it’s held up extremely well. The turf still looks great, and I haven’t noticed any shedding, fraying, or fibers coming loose despite the daily cleaning. It’s durable, easy to maintain, and has been a great solution for my dogs. This artificial grass drains better than other brands due to the MANY holes punched in the mat. Other brand have very few drainage holes and urine pools. I won't buy any other brand of turf.

Did you know you can go to Home Depot and have these cut to size for about $16? I've been a customer for over a year, and the $60 monthly replacement is cheap when you can DIY. There are also drainage holes at the ones at Home Depot. After learning this I can no longer justify spending $60 just for one mat.

Everything is very good---very helpful for us. Have been using your product for 15 years for 2 dogs. Only thing I would like to have you improve on is faster delivery. It was very slow this time when I needed a new grass mat. I think maybe you have a different delivery system---they are not as good.

If you are someone who has difficulty getting around and has to limit walks this makes it a lot easier. I have found with my dog that two to three months is when I need to change the artificial grass. He's fussy about odor and I live in a very hot and humid climate which I think affects the durability. Definitely a helpful product.

I’ve been buying from porch potty for years. And I’ve turned many friends to their great products. The synthetic grass is a better product than what one can purchase on Amazon although more expensive. Unfortunately, with my last purchase one of the grass replacements was short. Even so, I recommend Porch Potty products.
